How it works

Why is a compressed PNG sometimes not smaller?

LocalTiny tries lossless PNG optimization first. For photo-like PNGs, it can return a high-quality WebP with the same pixel dimensions when that is substantially smaller.

Will compression change image dimensions?

The compressor now preserves the original image dimensions when the browser can process the file at that size. Compression mainly comes from re-encoding quality rather than resizing.
